In Tune With Kids

About Majors for Minors

Majors for Minors is a series of classical music albums crafted to support brain development, calmer sleep, and better focus in babies and children.

Our story

Majors for Minors began with a question: could the right music help children feel calmer, sleep more easily, and focus better? The answer became a collection of classical albums, carefully structured rather than randomly assembled, where every piece is chosen for the way it settles or gently engages a young mind.

Our mission is simple. We want to give families a soundtrack they can trust, music that supports development, calm, sleep, and focus, and that fits naturally into the rhythm of an ordinary day.

The science behind it

The music is selected to gently influence brain wave activity, supporting calm, memory, and concentration. We have gathered the research and the reports from parents and teachers in one place.

Guided by research

Much of what we know about the music comes from educationist Dr Annette Lotter, who studied how structured classical music affects learning and behaviour, and who carried out full-time research on Majors for Minors at Rand Afrikaans University.
